SEND ME THOSE PICTURES ! There are many new boats being constructed at the present time. As pictures become available, I will be posting them here so all can see the newest members to the class. With the availability of hulls, spars, and fittings the class is growing constantly with new hulls going out monthly. Quite a few in the West too! If you are in the process of building a new boat, please send me your information and picture so we can add it to the list. One of the CRAZY things about the J Class..... is so many of the skippers have more than one boat! While the numbers reported in the AMYA Model Yachting Quarterly reflect the number of registered skippers, the number of boats is actually quite higher. The percentage of skippers that own more than one boat is probably higher than almost ANY class including the inexpensive plastic boats! Bob Sennott's NEW Ranger plug, the new mold IS COMPLETE and hulls are available NOW. Here is the first new Whirlwind hull ready to be crated. This is the first 1/16th scale model Whirlwind fiberglass hull that is known to me. ....and wasting NO TIME, a 3 week build here is the nearly complete Whirlwind by Darren Thigpen. Darren says he is making the COAST TO COAST TRIP to Mystic this August ! incredible ! Chuck Luscomb's new Ranger is looking good...
Jimmie Hawkins new Ranger nearing completion in San Diego, CA November 2007 Bob Rodkey in PA, started with his Shamrock from the Brawner mold, and in June 2008 it looks like this (below)
